What Is the Available Tickers Endpoint?
The Available Tickers endpoint returns the full list of symbols the API can serve. Use it to validate user input before you spend a request on an analytics endpoint, to populate symbol pickers and autocomplete, or to drive a batch job across the whole universe. For symbols that already have live data cached, see Queried Symbols.
Common Use Cases
- Validate symbols - reject unknown tickers client-side before calling an analytics endpoint
- Power autocomplete - load the list once and filter it as the user types
- Drive batch jobs - iterate the universe for nightly screens or research pulls
